Society is becoming more aware of some common sensory differences experienced by neurodivergent people, for example tactile differences - being bothered by labels in clothes, or auditory differences - hating the sound of hand dyers, but there remain a number of common hidden sensory differences that we are less aware of but which have as much impact on the wellbeing and engagement of autistic, and other neurodivergent, people.In this seminar Dr Jo Grace will explore the roots of sensory differences and highlight the significance of some of the hidden sensory differences to how we support young neurodivergent people in our settings.
